Free payroll witholding tax calculator
PaysWell is a set of spreadsheets, one for each country, that calculate payroll withholding tax. It's GNU GPLv2 Free Software.
I created such a spreadsheet for Canada in OpenOffice.org because GnuCash does not support withholding tables. Other nations and spreadsheet formats will follow soon.

Development has just resumed after a long hiatus; I'm afraid the last release is from tax year 2005.
If you previously downloaded version 0.01, please download the 0.02 update.
Version 0.02 is incomplete and only supports the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. The rest of Canada should be supported soon, followed by the United States and other countries.
PaysWell is an OpenOffice.org spreadsheet. Visit http://www.openoffice.org/ to download a free copy for your computer.
Subscribe to the payswell-user mailing list and ask questions there. Any help you can give other subscribers will be greatly appreciated.
You don't need to know how to program computers to help. Because PaysWell is a spreadsheet, most people familiar with OpenOffice.org, Excel, Quattro Pro or other popular spreadsheets should be able to contribute.
